Learn what dangerous and healthy ingredients are. Cut back on the dangerous ones and increase the healthy ones.
Supplement if you feel you have issues that go beyond good Nutrition, such as no time to eat healthy, past sins that need support beyond what normal food intake can provide, like antioxidants, or perhaps things that you know get depleted quickly based on your environment... Stress uses up Vitamins as an example.

I am a one man show (store operator, photographer, videographer & film editor, copy writer, advertiser, ....) Even worse, I am not very good at most of these items so it is even harder both to do and for you to stomach and walk away with useful information. (my goal). I know just excuses!
So the plan is:
Initially discuss areas to think about in nutrition.
Ultimately I would like to develop a large database or cross reference of existing databases that would allow a more human interpreted initial presentation of the information so it isn't so easy to get side tracked or misled in the quest for accurate data and effective solutions about natural supplements and foods that can help define your health.
Mostly I will steal and point at others, because... I am not a doctor, lawyer, nutritionist, at most I am a person with an interest in staying alive and doing so without the help of the modern medical system as most of us think of it. I am not against doctors, or even going to the doctor when appropriate... Lets just say I believe more in the concept of a HSA (Health Savings Account) - Fair pricing for all at doctors, quick cash payment, and the monetary urge to NOT go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary and the reward of financially benefiting from the savings in the future for either retirement or even tough times.... Just makes more sense than the "drug pushing pharmacuetical companies" and the "insurance burdened doctors" and worst of all US the potential patient. I talk about voting with your wallet... That is what I do. Just don't get the tests, etc. THEY say, I will die if I don't. I say I won't die any sooner or later, whether I get the test or not. I KNOW what I need to do to change my diet and supplement my body to essentially compensate for my past sins in life...
My premise is that all of us are unique and no one solution will work for everyone, so we must all find what works for us. This to some extent happens by trial and error. But you can reduce both if you keep track of what you are trying, even if just mentally focus on the possible effects good or bad of a new supplement and see if you can tell a difference. Obviously, some supplements need to be taken in combination to be most effective so keep this in mind and think of the "group:" as one for your self trial. Obviously if you have a severe or threatening medical condition of any type that requires you to take perscription medication, then YOU MUST ask the pharmacist or your doctor about possible side effects from the supplement. (alternatively if you are good and comfortable doing so you can research online but BE CAREFUL. There is a lot of mis-information out there online. Hopefully not mine, but it could happen. It is not my goal, but even I make mistakes. Actually I make lots of them and mostly the expensive kind - oops! ;-)
